Fort Lauderdale Hosted the Biggest Slider Showdown on Las Olas –
Proceeds Benefited the Jack & Jill Children's Center

FORT LAUDERDALE, FL (May 13, 2011) – J.MARK'S, a trendy and sophisticated restaurant, attended Sips & Sliders at Sunset, with proceeds benefiting the Jack & Jill Children's Center.
All local "Slider Specialists" were invited to answer the old question – who has the best slider in town? A challenge was extended to Fort Lauderdale restaurants and many answered! Seventeen well known eateries rose to the challenge where they created their version of the ultimate slider.
Though creative and very tasteful, only one restaurant could take the crown of culinary slider master; J. Mark's restaurant took first place overall with a Slow Roasted Prime Rib Slider.

Proceeds from the event benefited the Jack & Jill Children's Center, a non-profit organization that offers an accredited program which supports the intellectual, emotional, physical and social development of young children. It was founded in 1942 and has evolved into a community-based program with a community-based board of directors. Over the years, Jack & Jill has provided more than 13,000 children 1 million hours of child care. Its mission is to break the cycle of poverty for children of lower income working families in Broward County through the provision of family-oriented child care services and family intervention and support. J.Mark's has been voted "Best Restaurant of South Florida" and offers a variety of Certified Angus Beef Steaks, Fresh Daily Seafood selections and Happy Hour daily from 2-6 and 9-Close with half priced drink specials. Himmarshee Bar & Grille, Johnny V Restaurant Mancini's, Rocco's Tacos, Big City Tavern, Market 17, 3030 Ocean, Blue Moon Fish Co., Casa D' Angelo, China Grill, Rare, Casablanca Café, J. Mark's, Anthony's Runway 84, Noodles Panini, America's Backyard and The Grateful Palate.
Each restaurant created a sensational slider to represent their slider-making-skills. According to New Times, "J.Mark's delivered the beefy flavor missing in some of the fancier sliders served by the other 17 restaurants."
The entries were reviewed by an elite panel of judges at Yolo including South Florida celebrities and culinary- geniuses as well as the many local residents and restaurant patrons in attendance. Esteemed slider judges included Jack Seiler, Maxim's Hometown Hottie Lisa Morales, WSVN's Weather Anchor Julie Durda, New Times Editor Deirdra Funcheon and Miami Dolphins player Anthony Fasano.
